Chaddesley Corbett Parish Neighbourhood Plan submitted
Chaddesley Corbett residents are being urged to comment on the draft updated Chaddesley Corbett Parish Neighbourhood Plan.
The original Plan came into effect in September 2104 and now the Parish Council has submitted an updated document to Wyre Forest District Council.
Residents and interested parties have until 5pm on Wednesday 27 July to have their say.
The Plan sets out policies to guide development within the Parish. It suggests specific details on the type of housing that can be built within the Parish and sets out policies to guide the design of development and retain the characteristics of the Parish.
The Parish Council has been working with Wyre Forest District Council to progress the Neighbourhood Plan. The Plan has already been influenced by extensive public consultation. The publication period is the final opportunity to comment on the Plan.
Following this the Plan will undergo an independent examination. The examiner will look at things such as whether the plan is based on sound evidence and whether it meets legal requirements. They can suggest amendments to it.
It is anticipated that a local referendum will be held late Autumn 2022. Assuming a successful referendum, the District Council must ‘make’ the plan and use it as the basis for determining planning applications within the Parish.
Councillor Helen Dyke, Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration, Planning and Localism said:
“Neighbourhood Planning is intended to enable local communities to have a major say in shaping development in their area. It allows local people to get the right type of development for their community and also meets the needs of the wider area. We have been working with Chaddesley Corbett Parish Council throughout this process and would welcome comments on the Draft Neighbourhood Plan.”
