Are you interested in family history?
Well research for Elizabeth Blount has been carried out by our highly respect speaker ready for you to enjoy with the History Society. Blount was the mother of Henry VIII’s only acknowledged illegitimate child, and a male one at that. Imagine if her son had been named successor or indeed if Henry VIII had married this little-known mistress from Kinlet; the small village on the northern edge of the Wyre Forest, just within Shropshire. Her connection to Catherine of Aragon brought her into the Kings circle and her fortuitous marriages following the birth of her child made her a relatively rich woman.
