Crossing the Severn – the bridges, fords and ferries over the River Severn in Worcestershire
Telford’s Bridge Bewdley.
The River Severn is famous for its limited number of crossings. But was this always the case? There are many lost fords and ferries, and a few lost bridges too; which used to keep communities together and foster commercial and social interaction. This talk will inspire you to explore afresh the local footpaths which trace our local river and you too will notice these old crossings and some of the features that identify where they are to be found. Heather has lived in, explored and researched the area for many years and has created this talk from her own experiences.
Everyone is welcome, including visitors @£5 paid on the door
