We regret to inform you that the Parish Council is unable to proceed with the purchase of the land, as the Land Registry has declined to grant title to the Diocese. Without this, the Diocese cannot complete the registration, preventing the Council from moving forward. As a result, the deadline for the Levelling Up grant has expired and the £60,000.00 funds will be returned. The National Lottery Fund has also been advised that the project will not now go ahead.
We would like to sincerely thank the working group for their dedication throughout this process, the members of the public for their continued support and engagement, and both past and present Clerks for their efforts and commitment.

Close and lock all your doors and windows, even if you’re only going out for a few minutes!
Double-lock any door
Make sure that any valuables are out of sight – this includes leaving packaging from outside of your house
Keep handbags away from the letterbox or cat flap and hide all keys including car keys, as a thief could hook keys or valuables through even a small opening
Never leave car documents or ID in obvious places such as kitchens or hallways
In the evening, shut the curtains and leave lights on
If you’re out all day, then it’s advisable to use a timer device to automatically turn lights and a radio on at night
Set your burglar alarm
Make sure the side gate is locked
Lock your shed or garage
Lock your bike inside a secure shed or garage, to a robust fitting bolted to the ground or wall, like a ground anchor
Going away?
If you’re off on holiday and wish to post anything on social media, make sure your posts aren’t public and that they’re only seen by your friends – you don’t want potential burglars to know your house will be unattended!
Leave lights and a radio on a timer to make your house appears occupied
Ask a trusted neighbour to keep an eye on your property, or you could join a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme to keep in touch with those in your street
Consider asking your neighbours to close curtains after dark
If your driveway will be empty – you could also ask a neighbour to park on there to deter burglars from breaking in
Remember to cancel newspaper and milk deliveries – you don’t want these piling up on your doorstep!

Free Energy Home Improvements now available to residents in Worcestershire – For more information, email
Help us spread the word about free home improvements in Worcestershire.
The Home Upgrade Grant scheme (HUGs) is designed to tackle colder homes that do not have mains gas central heating. Homeowners and tenants in Worcestershire could benefit from a variety of measures to help reduce energy bills including: internal and external wall insulation, loft and cavity wall insulation, air source heat pumps, solar panels, draught proofing and many more.
Worcestershire County Council is working in partnership with Redditch Borough and Bromsgrove, Malvern Hills and Wychavon District Councils and Act on Energy to deliver this programme.
Worcester City Council and Wyre Forest District Council are administering their own HUG2 scheme and information can be found on their websites.
To qualify, households must not use mains gas to heat their home, have a gross annual income of less than £31,000 with a current Home Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of D to G.
Funding is also available for landlords in the charity and private rented sector.
Those who qualify for the scheme will undergo a free technical survey to determine the most suitable energy efficiency measures.

There is a chance for nature lovers to play a role in keeping the district’s reserves and countryside sites looking fantastic.
Wyre Forest District Council manages 15 nature reserves and is encouraging more people to get involved with their upkeep. The authority has been running a practical conservation group for the last thirty years. It is now looking for more people to join their volunteer days.
Volunteers can take part in a whole range of activities. There are plenty of opportunities – from keeping the heathlands open, coppicing to create woodland glades, keeping livestock fences in good order, building new steps and paths to improve access for all – to working on our wetlands. Volunteers meet on Wednesdays and Thursdays and can join in anytime between 10.00am and 3.00pm. No experience is required.
David Powell, who lives in Kidderminster has been a volunteer in the countryside team for six years. He said:
“I just love being outside. I am now retired and want to keep fit and active. Being in this team provides a regular routine in my week and it takes me away from everyday pressures. It’s my time to forget about everything else and of course it’s very sociable – you meet some great people!”
David added:
“Also you never know what you’re going to be part of. We maintain the open heathlands at the Rifle Range in Kidderminster and we create bee scrapes in the district’s sand dunes for insects to burrow and over-winter in. We coppice willow at Moorhall Marsh in Stourport to reclaim grazing space for Wyre Forest cattle and very occasionally I’ve even helped create basking areas for snakes. Whatever we do it’s fun, physical, outside and you just keep learning.”
Volunteers need to provide their own packed lunch. It is recommended to wear old clothes and take waterproof clothing. Strong walking boots or steel toe capped boots and a pair of gloves are also advised.
Councillor Tracey Onslow, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure, Arts and Community Service said:
“We are a district with lots of beautiful countryside and it provides sustainable habitats for our flora and fauna. It takes hard work to keep these spaces looking great, but it’s worth it for the conservation work we do and for the pleasure it brings to residents and visitors alike.
“So, if you have a bit of spare time and you like the outdoors, regardless of whether you have no experience or heaps of experience, please get in touch and let’s get started!”
